Kenya’s exhibition was granted the second best award in the African category at this year’s International Tourism Bourse (ITB) held in Berlin, Germany.
The exhibition which ended on March 13 saw the stand by Kenya Tourism Board (KTB) showcase its products at one of the biggest tourism exhibition in the world.
The team which was led by Tourism Cabinet Secretary, Najib Balala had over 40 exhibitors from both the private and public sectors, including four counties.
In a press statement sent to newsrooms today, KTB’s Ag. CEO, Jacinta Nzioka said the board had invested massive resources into the event to ensure it positions Kenya’s product offering in a creative way to attract tourists.
“This year we saw a lot of interest in our offering and with the various incentives the government has put in place we are optimistic the interests will convert to actual visitors”, said Nzioka.
The awards are categorised into the different continents with the top ten being named.
In Africa, Egypt emerged the top African country followed by Kenya while the third position went to Tunisia.
