At least 7,000 members of the Kamba Community living in Nakuru County have joined the UHURUTO band wagon to help muster support for re-election of President Uhuru Kenyatta in the forthcoming repeat presidential polls.
The community that is already asserting a coordinated campaign across the Countys 11 sub regions is anticipating an unprecedented surprise by helping the UHURUTO campaign in the county deliver 1million votes to President Uhuru Kenyatta.
The community, led by Gerald Kilonzo and Anne Kingotole told a news conference in Nakuru on Wednesday that the Akambas deliberate campaign will be complementary to the Countys Jubilee Party campaigns expected to kick off tomorrow at Naivasha.
Kingotole said the campaign intends to leverage on the Jubilee Governments irreproachable development track record and a progressive development blue print to ensure that the electorate in Nakuru cast their votes overwhelmingly in favor of the incumbent President for cohesive development.
This comes against a background of political realignments taking shape across the countrys political landscape, with various focus groups in the Country locked in a rush against time to consolidate their support bases for either Raila Odinga of National Super Alliance (NASA) or Uhuru Kenyatta of the ruling Jubilee Party.
Nakuru Deputy Governor, Dr. Erick Korir and Nakuru County Jubilee Party Chairman, David Manyara who welcomed the community into the ruling party observed that the communitys invaluable participation in the campaign will help encourage other communities to join the Party which they said seeks to unify all citizens in the country on common social economic fronts.
Dr. Korir exuded confidence in Jubilee Partys victory at the polls come October 26th with the support of the Akamba Community.
