I will sue NASA leader for incitement, says a Jubilee MP

Kandara Member of Parliament Alice Wahome has vowed to sue NASA presidential candidate Raila Odinga for what she termed as incitement.

Wahome faulted the Director of Criminal Investigations Mr. Ndegwa Muhoro and Inspector General of Police Mr. Joseph Boinett for failure to institute charges against Odinga.

Speaking in Kigumo on Sunday, the MP said sentiments being made by the NASA leader were a recipe for chaos and legal action should be taken against him.

She said that Raila’s call to boycott the repeat presidential elections is meant to fuel tension and fear among Kenyans and such utterances should be tamed.

No one has authority to call for demonstrations during the Election Day but the NASA leader is going around the country calling for mass protests on October 26; he should face the law and I will move to court to sue him, said Wahome during campaigns for President Kenyatta.

The legislator wondered why the security personnel have not investigated what plans the opposition leaders are about to roll out saying the announcement Raila says he will make on October 25 should be unearthed.

The government should not sit back and wait for Raila to make any announcement on Wednesday about the repeat elections he should be stopped at his feet from doing so and keep off the polls because he has officially withdrawn from it, she charged.

Meanwhile, Wahome who was accompanied by other MPs including Joseph Nduati (Gatanga), Mary Waithira (Maragua) and Ruth Mwaniki (Kigumo) called upon Kenyans to ignore calls by the NASA principals of boycotting elections.

She said Kenyans should embrace maturity in politics and come out in large numbers to elect President Uhuru Kenyatta for sustainable development.

The country wants to move forward, we want investors to continue doing business in our land and we all need a peaceful nation so let Kenyans avoid destructive political sentiments and participate in the repeat presidential polls, said the MP.

On her part Maragua MP Waithira told Murang’a people to elect President Kenyatta in the repeat polls.

Waithira claimed that the opposition leaders want to plunge the country into chaos so as to have a chance to be included in the government.
