VIHIGA Senator George Khaniri has denied reports he is interested in Governor Moses Akaranga’s seat come 2017.
Speaking at Imbinga Friends’ Church in Sabatia subcounty on Sunday, he said he will defend his position as a senator.
“This spirited campaign by Akaranga’s opponents to pull him down is not good for our people because it will affect his performance,” Khaniri said.
The senator said he will stand by Akaranga to serve residents effectively and ensure development is spread across the county.
“From now on you will see us together in development programmes,” Khaniri said.
He asked politicians interested in Akaranga’s seat to wait until 2017.
