A man was on Monday charged with aiding theft of items worth more than Sh1.4 million from his employer.
Jotham Kibichi, a security guard at a house in Ganjoni area of Mombasa town was accused of committing the crime on the night of July 18 when he and his
alleged accomplices broke into Prakash Kumar’s house.
They are believed to have made away with gold jewelry worth Sh1.3 million, Sh90,000 cash and two mobile phones.
Kibichi pleaded not guilty to the theft charges.
He faced an alternative charge of failing to stop a crime which he had knowledge that it was going to take place which he also denied.
Kibichi was released on a Sh100,000 bond.
The case will be heard on August 14.
