Migori Governor Okoth Obado is currently being grilled by Criminal Investigations Department at the Nyanza regional police headquarters in Kisumu town.
The Governor, who has been adversely mentioned over the recent murder of University student Sharon Otieno, went to the CID headquarters at around 10.00am but by 1.30 pm was still holed up at the CID offices.
Nation journalist Barrack Odour, who was allegedly abducted by unknown people alongside the deceased before he escaped was also seen in a vehicle belonging to the CID offices parked outside the offices.
Sources privy to the investigations said that he was also to be questioned by a special homicide team dispatched from Nairobi soon after the murder last week.
Odour claimed that he and the deceased were to meet Obado’s Personal Assistant Michael Oyamo on the night they were abducted.
Oyamo is in police custody after he appeared before Homebody court over the murder Tuesday and denied bail.
The body of the slain university student was discovered at Obisa area, near Owade bridge with details emerging of her being ganged raped before being stabbed eight times.
Government pathologist revealed that the unborn baby also died as a result of stab wounds from the attack.
Her death has sparked outrage across the country, with fellow students, human rights activists and politicians’ alike calling for justice.
By the time going to the press at 1.30 pm, the media was still camping outside the CID regional offices hoping to speak to the governor, his lawyers or CID officers.
