Residents of Doldol in Laikipia North are set to benefit from postal services after Governor Nderitu Muriithi commissioned Doldol Posta Kenya Branch office on Thursday.
While officially commissioning the office that had temporarily closed its doors, Muriithi urged the locals to utilize the services brought closer to them.
Doldol residents have been travelling to Nanyuki town over 65 kilometres away for postal services. Now Posta Kenya has brought back the services closer to you, utilize the services well, Muriithi urged.
He also called on government departments to utilize the services provided by Posta Kenya as they serve residents.
He particularly appreciated the Travel light Service where the departments and other clients will only be paying a certain amount of fee for cargo and Posta Kenya will ensure it is delivered to the desired destination.
On his part, Titus Juma, Posta Kenya General Manager in charge of Operations said they were trying their best to access all areas of the country where services are needed.
Posta Kenya is ready when called upon by counties and leaders for service delivery and we are ready to serve all ministries, said Juma.
Posta Kenya is offering money withdrawal and deposit services and bank customers can withdraw money from Posta with no extra charges, he added.
Other services offered by Posta Kenya, include mail, financial, clearing and forwarding and M-post services.
The event was also graced by Njenga Kahiro, County Executive Member (CEC) in charge of Water, Irrigation and Natural resources and Dr. Lucy Murugi CEC in charge of Agriculture among other county staff.
