Police in Magarini Sub-county are investigating the cause of the fire that razed down a dormitory at Galana Secondary School, on Monday night.
Confirming the incident on telephone on Tuesday, the Magarini OCPD, Gerald Barasa said reports given by the School Principal, Thomas Safari indicated that property whose value is yet to be established was destroyed in the fire.
The police boss regretted that although fire fighters had responded in time and managed to put off the fire students’ property had already been turned into ashes.
Responding to the incident, Magarini District Education Officer, Githinji Mutai however, blamed five boys who were recently suspended from the school, claiming that they could be among the suspects who burnt the dormitory.
