Four pupils of Kenya certificate of primary certificate are doing their national examination at Kitale referral hospital.
Trans Nzoia West sub county director of education Simiyu Kalenda said that two boys were admitted at the health facility before the commencement of the national examination while two girls gave birth while exams were on.
Kalenda said that examinations for the hospitalized pupils were running on smoothly as arrangements had been made prior the start of the exams.
The government is committed to ensuring that every pupil is given equal opportunity under whatever circumstance to sit for the examination to allow them transit to the next level, he said.
Speaking to KNA at the hospital Paul Barasa a pupil of Mwangaza primary school who had been diagnosed with eye problem said he never anticipated to sit his exams in hospital but thanked the government for making arrangements for him and others candidates to sit for their exams.
I had prepared well for the exams but it all happened that I have to do my exams in the hospital I thank God for everything, he said.
One of the girls delivered Wednesday morning and sat the second day examinations with no hitch.
