Two hundred kilograms of fish seized on Monday by Igembe South public health officers suspected to have been preserved with formalin chemical were burnt at Iriene dumpsite in Maua.
The officers lead by Maua Public Health officer Mr. Ntoitha Imirongo Job, obtained a court order to destroy the fish.
The fish is suspected to have been preserved with formalin, a chemical used to preserve dead bodies in the mortuary.
Mr. Ntoitha said a sample had been sent to government chemist in Nairobi for analysis.
