Enroll For Huduma Numbers To Access Government Services

The Muhoroni Deputy County Commissioner (DCC), Kipkoech Lotiata has urged residents to register digitally to get Huduma identification numbers.

Lotiata said once they are registered, the residents will be able to easily access key government services.

All citizens after successfully registering will be provided with unique number that can help in accessing different government services, he said.

The DCC said the exercise is vital to all Kenyans and that all relevant personal details will be captured before unique number and card is issued.

Kisumu is one of the 15 counties where the exercise is being tested before it is rolled countrywide.

He called on chiefs and their assistants to mobilize residents to enlist in the 30 day programme in their respective locations and sub locations for its success.

I want the exercise to be successful. This will only happen if the administrators mobilize all residents to register and sensitize them on its importance, he said.

Speaking in Muhoroni while addressing a public baraza on Tuesday, he said the government had put in place logistics to spearhead the exercise.

He added that the number will also be used for planning and improving security.

The exercise targets Kenyans aged six years and above. The countrywide exercise is set for next week.
