An Embu subcounty agriculture officer’s family has been looking for him for two and a half months.
John Mwangi’s wife Lucy yesterday appealed for help from the public.
Several men have gone missing in Embu in the past few months.
Mwangi, who was based in Runyejes town, disappeared from his Manyatta home in Embu North subcounty on May 5.
Lucy, who is a teacher at Kavutiri Primary School, said her husband left home at Ntheruri village for work in the morning.
She said she reported the matter to Manyatta police station when Mwangi did not report to work and did not return home.
Lucy says she has a hard time explaining her husband’s whereabouts to her two children.
She said she has searched for him in nearby hospitals, mortuaries and police stations, but in vain.
They have been married for 20 years, she says.
“I am afraid for my husband’s security. My children and I are quite disturbed. We are hoping that he is alive wherever he is,” she said in Embu town.
She urged police to step up the search.
Lucy urged anyone with information to report to the nearest police station or reach her on 0728554674.
She said she fears Mwangi may have been kidnapped by al Shabaab.
