Embu Usher Stabbed as Trio Seek Bishop

An usher in Embu county was stabbed on Sunday while shielding a bishop from an angry husband.

Benson Muthee, 30, was manning the door at Jesus Healing Ministry at Kibugua village in Embu North subcounty.

Witness Simon John told the Star three men invaded the church and threatened to attack Bishop John Njeru but were repelled.

He said one of the men claimed the bishop converted his wife into a faithful.

She spends most of her time worshipping in the church and usually arrives home late, the man said.

John said the three men returned after 30 minutes.

Muthee tried to block them but was stabbed in the stomach.

Police have launched a manhunt for the three men.
