Secondary school students in the Eastern region have been cautioned against burning of schools and destruction of property.
Speaking on Tuesday at Njuri High School in Chuka Sub County, Eastern Regional Commissioner (RC), Wycliffe Ogallo stressed that those found culpable will be arrested and arraigned in court.
Ogallo pleaded with the students to avoid criminal activities that could land them into trouble maintaining that there will be no leniency to the culprits.
According to investigations, he said, most of the students involved in burning of schools are poor performers with intent to ruin others’ career.
Our investigations show that most of the students involved in razing of schools are the few performing badly, Ogallo said.
The administrator said more than 60 students from 18 schools in the region had so far been arraigned in court for the vice.
Ogallo was flanked by County security team led by County Commissioner, Muzne Abdullatif, Chuka Deputy County Commissioner, Omar Beja and other heads of departments.
