DStv slashes High Definition decoder cost by 22 percent

Pay TV service provider DStv has announced a 22 percent price reduction for the high definition decoder.

The offer will also see new customers get a one month free subscription with every purchase and activation of a decoder.

MultiChoice Kenya Corporate Communication Manager, Philip Wahome said a fully kitted DStv HD decoder will now retail at Shs. 5000, down from Shs. 6400. This includes a Zappa HD decoder box, cabling, satellite dish and installation fee.

This price reduction will allow new customers to enjoy compelling content available on any of the four DStv packages, the reduction is meant to deliver value to its customers by making great entertainment more accessible said Wahome.

Additionally the new subscribers will get ONE month free viewing of Access, Compact, Compact Plus, Family or Premium bouquet as per their selection upon payment of the first subscription.

Additionally subscribers will also get to enjoy the new US based The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon on Comedy Central while at the same time get a maximum dosage of laughter from Trevor Noah on The Daily Show as well as the best new show of 2017 ‘This is Us’ on MNET 101 and numerous Hollywood, Bollywood and Kenyan blockbusters and action movies.

DSTV also announced that from August 8, 2017, customers who subscribe to the Family package will now also be able to watch the Premier League overflow matches on an all new SuperSport channel � SuperSport 8.

DStv Premium, Compact Plus and Compact subscribers will also access Premier League & La Liga overflow matches on the same channel, SS8, where the FIFA internationals and the IAAF Diamond League athletics will also be broadcast in glorious High Definition (HD).

SuperSport 10, another new sports dedicated channel will be open to all DStv subscribers from August 8, 2017 and they will receive one live Premier League, La Liga, UEFA Champions League and Europa League Match per week, as well as Athletics, Rugby 7’s and the newest sports genre growing in popularity � eSports.
