US President Barack Obama should not lecture the government on democracy during his three-day visit, a Jubilee MP has said. Speaking on Citizen TV on Tuesday, Tetu MP Ndung’u Gethenji urged Obama to appreciate Kenya’s progress.
“This is an opportunity for the US to celebrate Kenya in its growing democratisation,” the lawmaker told the Star. Gethenji said the 2010 constitution shows democracy is growing. Obama arrives tomorrow to attend the Sixth Global Entrepreneurship Summit on July 24 to 26.
