Cut Travel Budget By 80 Per Cent – Civil Society Tells Taita Taveta County Assembly 14

Civil society members in Taita Taveta county are demanding an 80 per cent cut of the county assemblies foreign travel allocations.

They presented a petition to the assembly on July 10, blaming the legislative for allocating the region’s equitable share to travel and allowances costs.

They said such details were not presented during public participation meetings to discuss the budget.

Speaking on the phone yesterday, Voi member Richard Babu said MCAs’ foreign and local trips do not add value to the county’s development agenda.
