A 42 year old man and his alleged lover have appeared before a Nakuru Court charged with 25 counts of armed robberies and illegal possession of firearms.
Harun Ndirangu and Lucy Wambui, who were unrepresented, appeared before Chief Magistrate Josephat Bundi where they pleaded not guilty to all the charges.
The prosecution alleges that the duo was found in possession of an AK 47 rifle, a ceska pistol and assorted live ammunition on October 3 2017.
The offence was reportedly committed at Kiamaina Village, along Nyahururu-Nakuru road.
In the 25 counts, the accused persons entered a plea of not guilty to charges of robbing businessmen of cash amounting to over Sh 3 million.
The offences are said to have been committed on diverse dates between May 20 and October 3 this year.
Ndirangu is separately charged with robbing Livingstone Mbugua, a licensed firearm holder, of a ceska pistol at a Posho Mill area on May 20, 2017.
The indictments further state that the accused shot dead a security guard Walter Mugare during a robbery at Vision Supermarket.
Wambui pleaded not guilty to charges of conspiring to commit criminal activities with the first accused.
The prosecution alleges that the accused was aware that her lover was involved in armed criminal activities but failed to report to authorities.
The court was informed that the accused was arrested by officers under command of Bahati OCPD Edward Masibo and DCIO Mohammed Ngenya who recovered the firearms and 16 rounds of ammunition following a robbery incident.
The prosecution noted that the accused persons were riding in a white Toyota Saloon during their arrest and that the duo are suspected to be masterminds of a spate of armed robberies and carjacking incidents within Nakuru county and its environs.
Burudi ordered each of the accused persons to be released on a Sh 4 million cash bail.
