Council of governors’ chairman, Josphat Nanok has sent a message of condolences following the death of multiparty icon Kenneth Matiba.
In his message, Nanok described Matiba as a distinguished public servant who will be remembered for his public service work as well as his struggle to make Kenya a multi party state.
His fight was not in vain since through his sacrificial service and dedication, Kenya enjoys democracy today. In many ways this can be associated with the attainment of the devolved system of government that has changed our beloved country for the better, said Nanok.
Matiba died on Sunday at Karen hospital.
We grieve for having lost a statesman. May our prayers serve as comfort during this trying time, said Nanok.
