CORD Leader asked to reconcile the MPs

Two ODM MPs have implored Cord leader Raila Odinga to urgently convene a meeting to reconcile some leaders from Luo-Nyanza region ahead of 2017 general elections.

Homa Bay Town MP Opondo Kaluma and his Ugenya counterpart David Ochieng said that the political differences among some leaders was not healthy for the political future of Luo-Nyanza hence the need to reconcile them.

The leaders said differences between ODM chairman John Mbadi and Rarieda MP Nicholas Gumbo would only divide people and compromise the presidential ambition of Mr. Odinga in the next general elections.

Ochieng called for unity among the leaders the people of Luo-Nyanza and lobbying for Cord support in other parts of the country to enhance the chances of Raila becoming the president of Kenya,

Kaluma said Mbadi who is the ODM national chairman should be in the forefront in uniting leaders instead of creating unnecessary divisions within the party.

They were speaking during the constituency prayer meeting at Rarieda secondary school in Rarieda constituency where the area MP Nicholas Gumbo apologized for having wronged Mbadi on December 26, 2015 but appealed to the ODM chairman to also respect him as his boss at the national assembly’s Public Accounts committee.
