A youth group in Nairobi has started to clean up and paint Uhuru Park.
The Nairobi County Governors’ Youth Oversight Board said this will create an environment-friendly place for residents and tourists.
“We have trained 58 women and youth who will do the landscaping and planting of more flowers where necessary,” secretary general Jeremy Ochieng told the Star in Nairobi yesterday.
He said the process, which began early this week, will be finished by December.
Ochieng said they will paint the dioceses where public functions are held and the entire park.
He said the revenues collected will be used to maintain the park.
