The Night of the African Elephants was hosted at The Tribe Hotel in Gigiri, Nairobi, on Saturday evening. The project is the brainchild of the Ulinzi Africa Foundation, which is led by Raabia Hawa, a presenter with Radio Africa Group’s XFM and East FM.
The event seeks to promote elephant conservation through music. World renowned performer Ayub Ogada performed many of his beloved hits including Kuth Biro which was in The Constant Gardner movie. He also belted out his new song Footsteps, a song dedicated to elephants.
In attendance were ambassadors Yahel Vilan (Israel) and Robert Godec (United States), high court judge Justice Nzioki Makau and The Gallmann Memorial foundation president Kuki Gallmann.
