Busia residents are set to benefit from free medical treatment and checkups from Safaricom Foundation in partnership with Busia County Government and Kenya Diabetes Management and Information Centre.
According to the County Health Promotion Officer Nelson Andanje, the free medical camp would be held on January 27 at Busia Polytechnic Grounds
from 8am to 3pm.
The diseases to be attended to include diabetes, high blood pressure, teeth and eye treatment and cataract surgery.
Besides providing better health education to those who would attend, cervical, breast and prostate cancer screening will also be carried out.
Andanje has appealed to Busia residents to turn up in large numbers and take advantage of the free medical camp which was being held for the second time in the County courtesy of the health partners.
Cancer is manageable if detected early, hence there is the need to go for regular checkups. It is also worth noting that eye conditions have increased in the County hence all those affected should turn up on that day and have their eye conditions checked and treated, he appealed.
