A Busia County Government official has appealed to professionals from the county to submit their contributions for inclusion in the revised
County Integrated Development Plan (CIDP) 2018-2022.
According to Chakol South Ward Administrator Emmanuel Otengo, the professionals have until Wednesday this week to make their
contribution to enrich the document.
Otengo who made the appeal during the burial of Maria Adungo, 91, at Obucun village in Teso South Sub County on Saturday said the
professionals can post their recommendations on priority areas to be included in the CIDP by posting them on Busia County Government
Otengo also revealed to mourners that they have already received Local Supply Orders to start rehabilitating rural roads, although the
exercise has been put on hold until the rains subside to avoid losses.
On agriculture, he urged farmers to come up with groups for easy access by agriculture extension officers who are few across the county.
In December 2017, Business Community across the county unveiled priority areas which they want the County Government to
capture in its revised CIDP to make Busia the hub of the region.
Through their chair Peter Kubebea, they identified construction of modern bus parks, establishment of vegetable markets and small scale
investment in the motor sector especially motorcycles.
