A body of a 10-year-old boy who went missing from his home in Marula village, in Naivasha Sub-County a month ago was found Wednesday in a forest along the Nakuru-Nairobi highway.
The class five pupils who was said to be epileptic left home for school, but did not go back prompting the family to begin the month long search.
One of the village elders who participated in the search, Patrick Wafula said the badly decomposed body was discovered by workers in a nearby vegetable farm.
Naivasha OCPD Samuel Waweru said the body was taken to Naivasha Sub-county hospital mortuary and that the family members had identified it as that of their missing child from the clothes he wore.
The family members suspects that the boy may have been swept by flood waters as he went missing at a time when the area was hit by flash floods.
Meanwhile, police in Naivasha are investigating the cause of the fire that gutted a number of houses in a residential plot at Kabati estate in the town.
The OCPD said his officers were working with the affected families to establish the cause of the fire and the extent of the damage.
