The decomposing body of a man was on Monday recovered from a borehole at Bur Lowo village in South Sakwa location, Bondo sub-county.
According to South Sakwa Location Chief, Patrick Obilo, the body of the unidentified man was discovered by a villager who had gone to fetch water.
The chief said the villager became concerned when a foul smell hit his nostrils as he drew water.
He decided to move closer and check what could have been the cause, only to be met by the floating corpse, added the chief.

The chief said attempts by police to pull the body out of the borehole had been difficult as just a leg was pulled out after it disentangled from the rest of the body during retrieval. .
He added that they suspected the man was murdered by unknown people who dumped his body in the borehole.
