A 47 year old man from Kiganjo in Thika, Kiambu County who has been bed ridden for three months on Wednesday got a relief after a Thika child and adult psychologist gave him a wheel chair.
Samuel Waweru has a cancerous growth in his back and abdomen and requires urgent treatment to save his live.
Waweru is being nursed by his sister, Esther Wairimu. Waweru said he had not enjoyed sunshine since he got bed ridden. He hailed Chania for helping him and at the same time, appealed for medical assistance.
According to Wairimu, her brother started complaining of stomach ache on March 18, this year.
She said that Waweru went to Kiandutu Health Centre for treatment and was given de-wormers.
After a few days, he went back to the hospital and was prescribed other medicines but he did not get well prompting her to take him to another clinic in Kiganjo where he was treated for typhoid.
Later, the patient was referred for a scan at Thika medical centre after which he was referred to Thika Level 5 Hospital which immediately referred the patient to Kenyatta National Hospital.
Wairimu said after undergoing various intensive medical screening, it was established that her brother had a growth in his back, lungs and bladder.
She said further investigations were ongoing in various hospitals in Nairobi.
She said the patient had been staying alone after separating with his family which resides in Tanzania several years ago.
