Baringo MCAs have defended the county government over alleged loss of Sh30 billion
The MCAs dismissed the Auditor General’s report that the county cannot account for the money.
The report cites unsupported imprest, irregular procurement, missallocation of expenditure, irregular payment of salaries and meal allowances.
The MCAs said the report is meant to taint the county’s image.
Addressing the press outside the assembly hall on Tuesday, the MCAs accused the Auditor General of not engaging the county’s Treasury department before publishing the report.
