Artist ‘Onyi Jalamo’ says he is not dead

Renowned secular singer, Joseph Onyango Ochieng’ aka Tibim is alive and healthy contrary to rumours circulating in the social media claiming he has passed on.

Speaking to the press in Busia town on Wednesday, Onyango said he was shocked and psychologically tortured by his presumed death and termed the rumours as a scheme by his opponents to destroy his music career.

The condolence messages that I received shocked me and I decided to trace the source of the rumour. I have since established Bryan Paul was the first to post the information indicating that I had been shot dead by members of the Jubilee party, he claimed.

I have tried to dispel the rumour but in vain, he said adding he was recently dismayed to find mourners gathered at his home for his funeral.

The artist said he has established that Paul was based at KDF camp in Mandera adding he (Paul) was not one of his Face book friends as many believed.

The artist who is also known as Onyi Jalamo further refuted allegations that he had received Sh3 million from NASA Presidential flag bearer Raila Odinga saying he had never talked with the leader face to face.

He however, appealed to the NASA principals to give him a token as they use his music in their political campaigns.

Onyi entertained the crowd during the installation of Raila Odinga as NASA flag bearer at Uhuru Park in April this year.
