Apologise to Matiang’i remarks before seeking Abagusii votes, Raila told

NASA presidential candidate Raila Odinga has been asked to apologise for the remarks he made against Education Cabinet Secretary Dr. Fred Matiang’i.

Nyaribari Chache MP Richard Tong’i said that it is ironical for Raila to ask for Gusii votes when he is undermining sons from the region.

Addressing thousands of women who gathered at Kisii Staff Training Centre in a function attended by First Lady Margaret Kenyatta, Tong’i said that the NASA presidential candidate risked being cursed by women from the region if he did not apologise for his remarks against the CS.

Early last week, Raila hit out at Matiang’i for what he termed as a scheme aimed at stealing votes come August 8 general elections.

Let Raila not lie to us that he has the interests of the Gusii community at heart when he is undermining our own sons. He should apologize for the attacks he aimed at Matiang’I, failure to which he gets a curse from Gusii women, he said.

Speaking to the press separately at St Vincent Pastoral Centre in Kisii Town, Senator Chris Obure said that Raila remarks are uncalled for and out of place.

Obure said that the remarks by the former premier are an embodiment of a person who is frustrated and impatient.

The Senator who is eyeing Kisii gubernatorial seat urged his former party boss to concentrate on campaigns and give Matiang’i time to deliver services.

All Kenyans know the capacity of Matiang’i. He has delivered before. It is necessary for all of us to give him time and space irrespective of political affiliation, he said.
