The Senate Committee on Finance yesterday said it was not satisfied with the explanations by two Kiambu county officials over purchasing 42 vehicles for Sh221 million.
Committee chairman Billow Kerrow told Kiambu Deputy Governor Gerald Githinji and Finance executive Marry Nguli that their responses to queries were not satisfactory.
“Next week, you should submit all the evidence needed,” he said.
The two officials had appeared before the committee at the County Hall in Nairobi.
Nguli said the county had budgeted to buy only 42 vehicles.
She said figure 72 was erroneously included in the supplementary budget.
