LUANDA, Angola’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Georges Chikoti, has held talks on biltaeral co-operation with his Kenyan counterpart, Cabinet Secretary (Minister) for Foreign Affairs and International Trade Amina Mohamed.
During Tuesday’s meeting, the two Ministers also analyzed aspects related to the current political situation in South Sudan and Burundi, according to a statement issued by the Angolan Ministry of Foreign Affairs here Wednesday.
The discussions also covered other issues within the framework of the International Conference on the Great Lakes Region (ICGLR), with the two also discussing matters related to the next summit of this sub-regional organization.
Angola has held since January 2014 the rotating presidency of the ICGLR, during which time Angolan President José Eduardo dos Santos has emphasized dialogue as a way to end the prevailing conflict in the sub-region.
Chikoti, who arrived in Kenya on Monday, is expected to return here Thursday.
