Atandi said 17 schools will benefit from the project that intends to improve infrastructure in local institutions.
Addressing the media at the Siaya county commissioner’s office Wednesday, the legislator said a further Sh. 18 million will be disbursed to bright and needy students from the constituency.
He however called on the national CDF board to hasten the release of all the money due to the constituency to enable the committee undertake its projects on time.
Atandi said during the current financial year that ends on 30/6/2018, Alego / Usonga CDF was allocated Sh. 100 million, but only Sh. 53 million has so far been released.
I urge the national CDF board to ensure that it releases our funds to enable us complete our activities before the closure of the financial year, he said.
Atandi at the same time hailed the national government for coming to the aid of flood victims in his constituency.
He said the government had released relief donations of maize, beans, rice and other items to those who were displaced after rivers Nzoia and Yala burst their banks, thus displacing people in Usonga and parts of Yala Swamp.
