Ailing widow appeals for urgent medical help

A 29-year-old widow from Mayenje Ward in Matayos Constituency is

appealing to well-wishers to help her raise Sh500, 000 to enable her

undergo a brain tumor removal operation.

Pauline Auma Wandera told the press on Friday that she was diagnosed

with brain tumor at Jamu Imaging Centre Limited in Busia town in

November 2017 after she was referred for a CT scan.

I started having persistent headaches in 2011. I visited many

hospitals including one in Tororo, Uganda in vain. On several

occasions I was diagnosed with malaria or typhoid while at times the

tests turned negative. It was until late last year when the CT scan

tests revealed I had a brain tumor, Auma narrated.

I am now suffering from persistent headaches, memory lapse and poor

vision, she recounted, adding that the tumor is almost turning her

into an epileptic as she collapses frequently.

Auma revealed that her husband, who died in April 2017, left her with

one child while she was expectant for her second born who is now four

months old.

Auma’s aunt Roseta Emoto who is now living with her and her two

children said they have been forced to appeal to well-wishers through the media

as they could not be able to raise the required money for the surgery.

According to Busia County Director of Medical Services Janerose

Ambuchi, Auma could only seek the required treatment at Eldoret Referral

hospital or Kenyatta National Hospital.

She said the growth of the tumor was exerting pressure on the brain

leading to frequent headaches and memory lapses.

Ambuchi said Auma would be back to normal once the tumor has been removed.

Well-wishers can channel their contributions to Safaricom pay bill

number is 777515, Account Number. 0480191291709.
