Officers from the Department of Criminal Investigation (DCI) and Tourism officers in Malindi are investigating the death of an Italian man believed to have commited suicided in Malindi town.
Speaking to the press on Tuesday, Malindi DCIO, Antony Sunguti said the man, Alessandro Serezani, was found dead in his room at G.A Complex residence in Malindi with blood was oozing from his mouth after missing for two days.
Sunguti said the watchman of the apartments, Salim Omar Saleh, told the police that the 84 year old Italian may have committed suicide because previuosly, the late Serezani had attempted to kill himself with poison but failed after he was rescued.
We found several letters written in Italian in his sitting room and bed room that referred to a Maasai lady he was living with, the DCIO said.
He also said the body was taken to Malindi Sub County hospital for postmortem.
