12 More Cholera Cases Reported, Total Now 88

MORE than 12 cholera patients have been hospitalised in Migori county.

The new cases in various places indicate the county is at risk of a large-scale outbreak, Health director Joel Gondi said.

Last week, eight students of Masara Secondary School were diagnosed, bringing the total number of reported cases to 88 this year.

Seven people have died so far.

He said the 12 are admitted in hospitals at Masara and Mikei village in Suna West and Nyatike subcounties.
