The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has released a schedule for hiring 5,000 teachers.
The employer has given job seekers up to Friday to file applications while interviews will be concluded by August 12.
Up to 2,338 teachers will be posted to primary schools while 2,662 will go to secondary schools, technical training colleges and institutes of science and technology.
“TSC county directors have already been briefed on how to conduct the recruitment exercise and issued with comprehensive guidelines for primary school applicants and post-primary schools applicants,” said TSC Chief Executive Nancy Macharia
Under the guidelines, selection panels will be required to exercise the highest degree of transparency and accountability.
All applicants must be registered by the TSC. In the secondary school and tertiary institutions category, those who left university in 2003 or before will score the highest marks at 40 while those who left last year will score seven marks.
Mrs Macharia said school boards of management will be required to conduct a selection exercise for aertised vacancies in their institutions and names of interviewed candidates will be ranked in the order of performance.
