Total Kenya Limited has appointed Anne-Solange Renouard as managing director, replacing Ada Eze in the company’s board changes announced on Tuesday.
Ms Renouard has been the managing director for Total Mauritius, prior to her new appointment.
Ms Eze has been appointed executive vice president for Total’s West Africa region. The changes take place effective November 1.
“Anne-Solange Renouard has diverse experience having worked in logistics, corporate audit and strategy as well as being sales and marketing manager of Total Tunisia.
“Ms Anne will be taking over from Ada Eze who will be taking up a new role within the Total Group,” said Total Kenya in a statement.
REASONS FOR RESIGNATION
Last month, Total Kenya Limited appointed Jean-Christian Bergeron, a French national, as the new board chairman, taking over from Jonathan Molapo, a South African national who resigned from the position he had held since September 2013.
No reason for Mr Molapo’s resignation were disclosed, but sources within the oil marketer who spoke to Nation on telephone described the move as “a personal decision.”
“I write to advise that by a resolution passed today, the board of directors of Total Kenya Limited appointed Jean-Christian Bergeron as a director and chairman of the board in place of Jonathan Molapo who resigned with effect from September 15,” said Total in a statement.
The changes come just two years after Total embarked on a restructuring plan that saw the appointment of Mr Molapo as chairman and Ms Ada Eze as the company’s first female chief executive officer replacing then CEO, Alexis Vovk.
In August, Total reported a decline in net profit for the first half 2015 to Sh525 million from Sh631 million during a similar period last year, due to reduction in sales revenue and foreign exchange losses.
Its management blamed the decrease to sales revenue and the drop in international fuel prices that has been experienced since June last year.
