Football fraternity condole with Cecafa chief Musonye is bereaved

Messages of condolences continued to pour in following the death of Theresa Busiega, mother of Cecafa secretary general, Nicholas Musonye.

Mama Theresa, 77, wife of Clement Ligare, collapsed and died at her home in Kakamega County on November 11.

Outgoing Cecafa chairman, Leodegar Tenga was among the regional body’s top officials who visited Nairobi last week to console with the family.

In his message, Tenga expressed his deepest condolences to the family.

Mourners who attended a fund-raising function at Railways Club this week described the late as a dedicated person who supported her family, schools and churches within her community.

Ikolomani Member of Parliament, Benard Shinali who presided over the fund-drive helped to raise Sh640,000 to assist in funeral expenses.

Musonye’s mother will be laid to rest on Tuesday at her home in Mukulusu village, Kakamega County.

Amani National Congress (ANC) party leader, Musalia Mudavadi sent a contribution of Sh100,000.

In his message to the family, the former vice president said: “You are in our prayer during this difficult time in the loss of your beloved mother. Please accept my heartfelt condolences.”

Others who contributed included legislators, Dan Wanyama, Emmanuel Wangwe, Raphael Otaalo and John Bunyasi.
