BSG Secret Vineyard has introduced new wine brands in Kenyan as demand for the alcoholic beverage grows.
The company has launched the 2014 Merlot, 2015 Sauvignon BlancCabernet Franc Rose and the 2015 Sauvignon Blanc.
BSG co-founder and chief executive Brilliant Mathelumusa said the decision to launch the wines was made after research showed that there was growing demand for the drinks, especially from younger and urban customers.
“These varietals (types of wines) are specially made with the preference of Kenyan wine drinkers in mind, taking into account the prevailing trends,” said Mr Mathelumusa.
Grow their revenues
Kenya’s alcoholic beverage market has in recent years attracted large companies seeking new clients to grow their revenues.
Pernod Ricard, for instance has introduced the Glenlivet Founders Reserve, a single-malt scotch to the local market.
A report by Euromonitor International says that incumbents such as East African Breweries have also noticed the trend and have rolled out more products to maintain their market share.
