Notwithstanding the ongoing El Niño rains, my take is that those responsible for the repair and maintenance of rural access and tea roads in Bomet County are either incompetent or are totally unresponsive to the needs of the people.
Adjacent tea-growing counties, including Kericho County, are currently busy repairing and maintaining their rural and tea roads while there is complete lack of commitment on the part of those charged with the same responsibility in Bomet County.
For example, three weeks ago, a road contractor dumped murram on the Kapletundo-Tendwet road and disappeared to date.
This means the road that is only 3km has been rendered totally impassable.
There is no sign to warn motorists that the road is closed. Can someone come to our rescue?
