Kenya Revenue Authority’s (KRA)ampaign for taxpayers to switch over to online payment bagged the bulk of the awards from the Marketing Society of Kenya (MSK) on Friday.
The taxman bagged five awards, including in categories like aertising campaign, digital, integrated and brand PR.
KRA’s iTax platform has made it possible for taxpayers to file their tax returns online, cutting out hassles associated with the previous manual system and bribery.
The taxman’s campaign was the brainchild of aertising company Ogilvy, which is owned by Nairobi Securities Exchange-listed firm WPP ScanGroup.
KRA records show two million users filed their returns on iTax as of June 30.
Ogilvy scooped five awards, the highest in the fete, including in creative, digital, aertising campaign and brand PR categories.
Other marketing and communications agencies feted by MSK include Scanad, owned by WPP ScanGroup, Youth Dynamix, Pevans and Sema House FCB Africa.
