At least 17 people were killed and several others were injured in a suicide bomb blast Saturday in Cameroon’s Far North Region, a military source told Xinhua.
The blast took place in Dabanga, a town in Far North Region neighbouring Nigeria, the source told Xinhua by phone. The people who were killed included two Cameroonian soldiers, the source said.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility, though the Nigerian jihadist Boko haram group has been active in the region.
