UNFPA donates health equipment to Marsabit

The United Nations Population Fund has donated medical equipment worth Shs. 50 million to county government of Marsabit.

Marsabit Governor, Ukur Yatani while receiving the equipments at the Marsabit county referral hospital said his administration is committed to improving health care services to the residents.

Yatani said the equipment will be distributed to various health facilities in the county to boost universal quality health services.

The medical kit included incubators, drugs, operation tables, anesthetic machine, delivery sets and a vehicle.

The governor advised Marsabit county residents to undergo regular medical checkups at government health facilities to know their health status.

This, he said will enable them to keep fit as they would seek treatment when a disease is diagnosed.

The governor thanked UNFPA for the assistance, saying it will go a long way in boosting his plans to equip all health facilities across the county with modern equipment and adequate drugs.

He asked the health department to ensure ambulances were in good condition at all times to be able to provide services when expected.
