Supreme Council of Kenya Muslims (SUPKEM) National Deputy Chair, Al Haji Abdulahi Kiptanui has sent a message of condolence to the family of Interior CS Joseph Nkaissery who passed on Saturday.
Speaking in Kericho town, Kiptanui said following the death of Nkaissery, the entire country had been robbed off a strong unrelenting and pragmatic leader who united the county through his efforts of maintaining national security.
Kiptanui said he met Nkaissery during the launch of a peace building exercise in Mount Elgon area by the Inter religious Council of Kenya and described him as a no-nonsense government official who promoted peace.
CS Interior Joseph Nkaissery served the nation with diligence. We are together with his family during this time and we wish them solace during this trying moment. His sudden death has come at a time when the country needed him most. He put duty first and dedicated his life to serving the country. It will be hard to replace him, said Kiptanui.
He urged both sides of the political divide to foster peace and harmony during this time of mourning. According to State House, the CS died at Karen Hospital on Saturday morning.
