Seven people who were killed in Esoit area in Transmara West last weekend were laid to rest in Transmara East.
A somber mood engulfed the mass which was held for the departed at Pimbinyiet area before each family was allowed to inter their loved ones.
The seven people were killed and several others injured in Esoit area in Transmara West on Saturday night last week.
Speaking at the funeral service the area Member of Parliament Mr. Johanna Ng’eno called on the government to set up local administrative units of a chief and two assistant chiefs at Murkan to restore law and order.
He noted that the area was vast but lacked administrative units which had contributed to insecurity in the region.
Violence erupted last week when a businessman heading home on Saturday at 9pm was attacked and shot dead by unknown people near Esoit centre.
Ben Koriane was driving home when he was ambushed by an unknown people who robbed and shot him dead before injuring another passenger who was in his vehicle.
This angered some individuals who armed themselves with machetes and attacked people they believed had killed and injured their kin. Those killed were burning charcoal at a nearby Punsaki forest.
