Raila’s health is stable, says advisor

NASA presidential candidate’s communication adviser Salim Lone has assured Kenyans that the Opposition Chief Raila Odinga has fully recovered from a stomach upset that he suffered during a campaign trail at the coast.

He told a press conference that Odinga suffered the stomach upset after he consumed an infected fish for lunch but had long recovered and was discharged after a night under observation at a Mombasa hospital

He further confirmed that the doctor’s report indicated that Odinga’s symptoms were entirely consistent with his instinctive self-diagnosis.

Odinga’s personal doctor Dr. Oluoch Olunya attributed his rapid recovery to the fact that the toxins produced by the infected fish were cleared by the vomiting that Odinga experienced.

”Dr. Olunya has given Odinga a clean bill of health and assured him that he can resume his normal schedule,” said Lone.

Salim Lone assured Kenyans that Raila’s ailment was not serious enough to pre-empt any possible misunderstanding which could raise political anxieties.

Odinga was on Sunday evening rushed to Mombasa Hospital after he developed stomach complications, earlier he had addressed a series of rallies Kilifi County.

He was checked in the hospital but later was discharged and flew back to Nairobi the same night.
