PRESIDENT PROMISES NO INSULTING OF OPPONENTS IN KENYAN ELECTIONS

MOMBASA, President Uhuru Kenyatta has promised Kenyans of peaceful campaigning for the Aug 8 general election and vowed not to insult his opponents in the race for State House.

Kenyatta said he was leaving insults to the main opposition party, the National Super Alliance (NASA), which he described as professionals in spewing insults in their campaigning because they have no agenda for Kenya. The president was referring to the constants attacks of the ruling Jubilee Party by Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho of NASA.

The president was speaking in Malindi, about 115 kilometres north of here, during a campaign rally in Kilifi County together with Deputy President William Ruto and some Cabinet ministers.

He said the those living on land earmarked for an airport expansion project in the county would be compensated and dismissed propaganda that they would be forcefully evicted.
