Police arrest three suspects over students’ abduction

Police in Uasin Gishu County on Friday arrested three suspects over the abduction of two students of Ngeria High School.

The two who are form four girls aged 16 and 17 had been abducted on Monday when they were intercepted on their way back to School.

One of the girl’s parent said he received a call from the School’s Board Chair that the girls had not reported back to School for they were to sit for their exams that particular Monday.

The parent who sought anonymity said he then immediately reported the incident to the police and the search for the girls began.

The Eldoret West OCPD, Samuel Mutunga confirmed the incident on Thursday, asserting that they received the report about the missing girls and immediately mounted a search.

Through our search we were able to nab the three suspects in Limuru, two men and a lady with the girls in a vehicle heading for Nairobi, he said.

Mutunga said upon interrogation, they realized that the girls had been held in a house in Huruma Estate for two days before being taken to Limuru.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the students were sexually harassed but we are still undertaking thorough investigations into the matter, said the OCPD.

The three suspects were identified as Paul Maina, Peter Maina and Ann Njeri.
