Nyeri County leaders threaten to have Ngunjiri’s petition revived

Nyeri County leaders have threatened to have the petition by Nyeri MP Ngunjiri Wambugu against Chief Justice David Maraga revived.

The leaders said they will have it revived if the petition by Lawyer Apollo Mboya against Justice Njoki Ndugu will not be withdrawn.

Speaking after a church service at Nairutia Catholic church in Kieni Nyeri County, the leaders led by Nyeri Governor Wahome Gakuru and five MPs said they will not allow Justice Ndungu be harassed by anyone.

Gakuru said the judge did a great job by giving a thorough finding as to why she was opposed to nullification of the August 8 Presidential election results.

Kieni MP Kanini Kega, Rigathi Gachagua (Mathira), Mwangi Gichuhi, (Tetu) threatened to compel Nyeri MP Ngunjiri Wambugu to revive his petition.

They added that they will ask President Uhuru Kenyatta to change his stand on Ngunjiri’s petition and have it reintroduced if this petition against Justice Ndung’u will not be withdrawn.

I have gone through the petition by Mboya and its content is based on flimsy grounds, said Gichuhi.

The leaders at the same time urged voters to come out in large numbers and re-elect President Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto in the pending repeat presidential election.
